Turkish lawmaker says coal mine fire kills four, unknown number trapped

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - A fire in a coal mine in western Turkey on Tuesday killed four workers and trapped an unknown number, a local member of parliament told broadcaster CNN Turk, retracting his earlier statement that 20 bodies had been retrieved.

Muzaffer Yurttas earlier told NTV television that 20 people had died in the mine in the western province of Manisa, citing local health officials.
