Germany's Merkel says Ukraine's people should be supported

LONDON (Reuters) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Thursday that the people of Ukraine deserved support.

"We should lend our support to the people there (Ukraine) and to those in many other countries when rule of law and freedom are to be protected," Merkel said in German to members of the British parliament.
