BEIJING: A US tycoon on Sunday pledged to donate $300 million to an elite Chinese university to fund a scholarship program that will recruit students from countries around the world to study in China.
Stephen Schwarzman, founder of investment company Blackstone, pledged the money to Beijing's Tsinghua university in one of the largest donations ever given to an academic institution in China.
