SAN FRANCISCO: Struggling Internet pioneer Yahoo! on Monday named 37-year-old Marissa Mayer, a key Google team member, its new chief executive, raiding its archrival for recruits to chart its turnaround.
Mayer - who was one of Google's first employees and headed products such as Google Maps - is now arguably the most prominent woman in Silicon Valley and a rare female CEO at one of America's largest firms.
