NEW DELHI (Reuters) - India's airlines will not submit emission details to the European Union (EU) as demanded by the bloc, the civil aviation minister said on Thursday, confirming a Reuters report that the country plans to urge airlines to boycott the EU carbon scheme.
"Though the European Union has directed Indian carriers to submit emission details of their aircraft by March 31, 2012, no Indian carrier is submitting them in view of the position of the government," Ajit Singh told lawmakers.
