NUSA DUA, Indonesia (Reuters) - The United States and China faced off on Saturday over the thorny issue of how to resolve competing claims by Asian countries to sovereignty of the South China Sea, the latest point of friction between the two powers.
A meeting between President Barack Obama and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao mostly focussed on economic issues, including China's currency policy, the White House said. U.S. lawmakers have long-criticised China's currency policy, which they say keeps down the value of the yuan to boost exports, costing American jobs.
