PORT-AU-PRINCE (Reuters) - Shaven-headed, energetic and extroverted, musician Michel "Sweet Micky" Martelly swept into the presidency by wooing Haiti's mostly poor and uneducated electorate with a potent promise of change.
The 50-year-old iconoclastic entertainer, a star of Haiti's Konpa carnival music blending African and Latin rhythms, will be sworn in on Saturday, taking over from outgoing President Rene Preval.
