BEIJING (Reuters) - Chinese authorities on Friday released human rights lawyer Teng Biao, his wife said, a day after a visiting U.S. official denounced his secretive 70-day detention.
Teng, a sometime law professor, was among the most prominent rights lawyers detained in February. U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Michael Posner decried his detention on Thursday while in Beijing for talks on human rights.
