JAKARTA (Reuters) - A strong earthquake struck off West Sumatra in Indonesia on Friday, but there was no tsunami alert issued or immediate reports of casualties or damage, officials said.
The epicentre of the 6.5 magnitude quake was 165 km (102.5 miles) west of Bengkulu at a depth of 22 km, the U.S. Geological Survey said on its website.
