JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert goes on trial in Jerusalem on Friday charged with fraud, breach of trust and failure to report income, allegations that forced him to resign last year.
The 64-year-old denies any wrongdoing and will try to disprove he took cash payments from a U.S. businessman, advanced the interests of clients of a former law partner and double-billed charities for expenses incurred on fund-raisers.
