BUDAPEST (Reuters) - An opposition party whose votes are vital for Hungary to elect a new premier said it expects the ruling Socialists to name new candidates after frontrunner Gyorgy Suranyi appeared to drop out of the race.
The Socialists who rule in minority are seeking agreement with opposition parties, mainly the Free Democrats and the Democratic Forum (MDF), to choose a new prime minister and strategy to tackle the country's severe economic problems.
