LUSAKA (Reuters) - Zambian opposition leader Michael Sata held a lead over acting President Rupiah Banda in the presidential election, according to 40 percent of constituencies released on Friday.
Sata, who heads the Patriotic Front, had 407,639 votes versus 317,558 for Banda, election officials announced. Some 3.9 million voters were registered to vote in the polls.
