PARIS (Reuters) - French President Nicolas Sarkozy admitted on Thursday that he had made mistakes during his first year in office but said he would press ahead with reform plans despite his low popularity and a tough economic climate.
Toning down his usual combative style, Sarkozy said during a 100-minute live television interview he understood public criticism but was focusing on delivering faster growth and greater purchasing power for the people.
