BEIJING (Reuters) - China's legislature on Sunday approved Meng Jianzhu, former Party chief of east China's Jiangxi Province, as the country's new minister of public security, said the Xinhua news agency, confirming an earlier Reuters story.
Meng, 60, replaces Zhou Yongkang who was promoted to the Politburo Standing Committee, the Party's top group of leaders, at the just concluded Party Congress.
