WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A magnitude 7.1 earthquake jolted the Indian Ocean off Indonesia's Sumatra island early on Thursday Indonesian time, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
It said the quake, quite shallow at only 30 km deep, was centered in the Indian Ocean, 166 km west, southwest of Bengkulu in Sumatra.
