JAKARTA (Reuters) - An 8.4-magnitude earthquake that rocked Indonesia's Sumatra island this month caused losses worth about 1.5 trillion rupiah ($164.1 million), but the impact on Southeast Asia's largest economy was insignificant, the government said on Thursday.
More than 86,000 buildings were damaged after the the Sept. 12 quake that was followed by a series of strong aftershocks, setting off tsunami warnings in Indonesia and other countries in the region.
