NEW YORK (Reuters) - An author sued by a film company after her novel about life as a truck-stop prostitute was exposed as a hoax was found liable for fraud on Friday in a case involving tales of the author's multiple personalities.
The author, Laura Albert, and her company, Underdogs Inc., were found liable by a jury in federal court in Manhattan and ordered to pay $116,500 to the film company, Antidote International Films, for breaching a three-year contract to turn her book "Sarah" into a film.
