ABUJA (Reuters) - Attackers tried to blow up Nigeria's electoral headquarters on Saturday, a few hours before voting was due to start in presidential elections, but a burning petrol tanker stopped short and failed to explode.
The attack in the capital Abuja came hours after militants in Nigeria's oil region stormed the office of the ruling party's vice-presidential candidate in what police said was an assassination attempt intended to derail the election.
