BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand will not force a group of 152 ethnic Hmong to return to Laos, where human rights groups say they face possible persecution from the communist government, a senior official said on Tuesday.
"They will be offered land or jobs in Laos, but if they still don't want to go, they don't have to," said the official, who helps formulate policy on the thousands of Hmong in Thailand.
