BUJUMBURA (Reuters) - Burundian intelligence agents have executed at least 38 people and arbitrarily detained hundreds in the past year, a rights watchdog said on Wednesday, urging the government to prosecute those who committed abuses.
Emerging from a 12-year civil war that killed 300,000 people, Burundi's newfound peace is generally seen as a home-grown African success story.
