AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - A ship which unloaded toxic waste in Ivory Coast that killed six people tried to shed a foul-smelling load in Amsterdam a month earlier, Amsterdam port authorities said.
Public outcry over the dumped toxic black sludge, which made thousands sick in the port city of Abidjan, forced the war-divided West African state's government to resign last week. Ivorian authorities have arrested eight suspects so far.
