BANGKOK (Reuters) - A year after Thailand ended its costly oil subsidy programme, the government says it is happy to see shrinking fuel demand and more energy efficiency but consumers are complaining about keeping their belts tight.
Thai drivers have proven to be among the most cost-conscious fuel users in the world, showing a sustained ability and willingness to curb consumption that has not been matched by wealthier U.S. peers or still-subsidised motorists in China.
