BEIRUT (Reuters) - Israeli planes blasted roads and bridges in south, east and north Lebanon on Saturday, a day after Hizbollah's chief declared open war on Israel for a blitz launched in reprisal for the capture of two Israeli soldiers.
Israel's campaign, which has killed 67 people and devastated Lebanon's economy, aims not just to force Hizbollah to free the soldiers, but to destroy its ability to launch rocket attacks on northern Israel, where four civilians have been killed this week.
