JERUSALEM (Reuters) - The Israeli cabinet will consider on Sunday what measures it will impose on Palestinians to weaken a new government to be formed by Hamas after the militant Islamist group took control of parliament.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is due to travel to the Gaza Strip to meet leaders of Hamas, which has rejected his call to respect past peace deals with Israel, pursue peacemaking and wage only non-violent struggle.
