MANILA (Reuters) - One man was killed and dozens of people wounded in an explosion near an army base on the southern Philippine island of Jolo, as U.S. soldiers prepared for annual exercises in the area, the Philippine military said on Saturday.
Brigadier-General Alexander Aleo, the army commander on Jolo, said the blast came from a makeshift karaoke stall about 10 metres (yards) from the gate of his camp,
