BANGKOK (Reuters) - Around 40,000 people attended the biggest demonstration against the Thai government in 14 years on Saturday to hear a former ally call for Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra to quit.
Many of the protesters said they gathered to show their disapproval of the legally tax-free $1.9 billion sale of Shin Corp, the telecoms firm Thaksin founded, by his children.
