SEOUL (Reuters) - The United States has little information about Kim Jong-il's apparent trip to China but hopes the North Korean leader is having talks that add life to stalled nuclear discussions, a senior U.S. official said on Thursday.
Various media reports -- citing witnesses, diplomatic sources and those familiar with his movements -- have said Kim is making a rare overseas trip to China. But his whereabouts, mode of travel and the purpose of his trip are all unclear.
