RAMALLAH, West Bank (Reuters) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas rejected on Sunday a bid by members of his Fatah group to withdraw from this month's parliamentary election amid growing lawlessness in the Gaza Strip.
The group of about 20 candidates said they now wanted the election postponed after their bid to quit was rejected because a deadline for withdrawing had passed.
