MANILA (Reuters) - Philippine opposition lawmakers filed an appeal with the Supreme Court on Monday, asking it to reverse a ruling that upheld the legality of an expanded sales tax at the heart of the government's fiscal reform plans.
The Supreme Court will keep its temporary freeze on the implementation of the tax while it rules on the opposition motion, a process that is expected to take several weeks.
