BERLIN (Reuters) - Little is known about the mysterious man married to Angela Merkel and if the shy scientist with an aversion to public appearances gets his way that won't change if she becomes Germany's next chancellor.
"Professor Dr. Joachim Sauer", as the Humboldt University chemist calls himself, has been a shadowy figure behind Merkel during her rise to the top of her conservative party, an opera buff who doesn't give interviews and loathes the limelight.
