Some 300 Iranian search and rescue forces were searching for the seven missing mountaineers, using sniffer dogs and helicopters in the Caspian Sea province of Mazandaran.
"They were trapped in the flood in the Andersam valley despite warnings from local villagers who advised them to delay their departure," said Asadollah Nikjoo, a disaster control official in Mazandaran governor's office.
