LIMA, Peru (Reuters) - Peruvian President Alejandro Toledo on Thursday named his most controversial ally as foreign minister, triggering the resignation of his premier and housing minister and plunging the government into a new crisis.
The appointment of Fernando Olivera, and departure of Prime Minister Carlos Ferrero and Housing and Construction Minister Carlos Bruce, signalled more turbulence ahead for the unpopular Toledo in his final months in office.
