LONDON (Reuters) - With headlines of "Humble Pie Monsieur?" the British media revelled on Thursday in London's successful bid to host the 2012 Olympics at the expense of rivals Paris and their President Jacques Chirac.
London beat the French favourites in one of the closest Olympic votes of all time, just as relations were deteriorating between Britain and France over comments attributed to Chirac criticising British food.
