Batu Pahat OCPD Assistant Commissioner Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the arrests were made during Op Samseng Jalanan at KM12 Jalan Kluang–Batu Pahat (Sri Gading) early Sunday (Oct 19), following frequent complaints of illegal racing activities in the area.

"Both men, aged 23 and 25, were tested negative for drugs and their motorcycles were seized," he said in the Batu Pahat District Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department's Facebook post.

"Both suspects were investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving," he added.

He said a total of 21 summonses were also issued during the operation for various traffic offences.

"I advise all road users not to commit offences under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which carries a jail term of up to five years and a fine between RM5,000 and RM15,000 upon conviction," he said.

ACP Shahrulanuar Mushaddat also urged parents and guardians to monitor their children's activities, especially at night, to prevent them from getting involved in unhealthy activities such as illegal street racing.
