Is it true that villagers have come across such tiger tracks?

VERDICT:

TRUE

Smallholders and farmers in the vicinity of Kampung Renyuk, Jeli, have been advised to be cautious following the discovery of tiger tracks in the area on Tuesday (May 13), reported Sinar Harian.

Mukim Reka headman Abu Bakar Yazid told the Malay language daily that the tiger pug marks had been found in several rubber smallholdings and orchards in the area.

"It is some distance from habitation. My advise to the farmers and smallholders is to go to their plots in groups and not alone to avoid any untoward incidents," he told Sinar Harian.

He added that residents were nervous as most of them earned a living through farming and tapping rubber.

Meanwhile, Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) Kelantan director Mohamad Hafid Rohani told Sinar Harian that the department had yet to receive an official report on the incident.

However, he said that Kelantan Perhilitan would carry out an investigation into the sightings.
