QuickCheck: Is the T'gganu govt's i-Fitri aid programme open as claimed?

The Terengganu state government has been providing aid directly to its citizens through the i-Fitri programme, which is conducted in conjunction with Aidilfitri every year.

Previously, the programme was known as Dana Raya.

Recently, an image circulated on social media and messaging apps announcing that applications for the 2025 i-Fitri programme are now open.

Considering that Ramadan is starting soon, is the announcement real?

VERDICT:

FALSE

In a Facebook post, the Darul Iman Information Secretariat stated that the image was fake and denied that the application for the 2025 i-Fitri aid is currently open.

The Terengganu state government has yet to make any announcement regarding the i-Fitri aid this year.

The aid was previously known as Dana Raya.

“We urge irresponsible parties to cease disseminating false information from unauthorised sources, or they will face legal consequences,” wrote the secretariat.
