QuickCheck: Are there fraudulent websites scamming job-seekers?


With the unemployment rate rising, many job-seekers are out in the market, applying for jobs online through various job websites, hoping to be first called for an interview.

One of the popular websites used by job-seekers is Hiredly.com.

Recently, have fake websites posed as Hiredly being used to deceive job seekers?

According to Hiredly, scam websites have been popping up with URLs that are designed to trick people.

"Each time we report the domain, they re-launch the scam website using a new one," it said.

"Hiredly only owns hiredly.com and we do not ask job seekers to pay money to apply for jobs via hiredly.com.

"If you come across any suspicious links or sites that don't seem quite right, please let us know immediately," it added.

It urged those who have been scammed by any fake websites to report it immediately to the National Scam Response Center by dialling 997.
