QuickCheck: Is a Sabah district council selling forms linked to a new PPR?

GIVEN how in-demand affordable housing is, it is very likely that any posts online claiming that a government body is selling forms for a People's Housing Project (PPR) would go viral rapidly.

Recently, a claim made the rounds online that the Putatan District Council is selling forms online for the construction of a new PPR project?

Is this true?

VERDICT:

FALSE

In a statement, Putatan District Council executive officer Ahmad Helmy Mohd Taib said that it denies the claim in the posts that forms are being sold by them.

"The council has not appointed any individuals or companies to act as third parties in transactions related to the Putatan District PPR. The claims circulating are not true, and the public is advised to stop sharing these messages," he said.

"If the public has any inquiries related to the PPR in the Putatan District, they should be directed to the PPR Unit of the Putatan District Council," added Ahmad Helmy.
