ROAD accidents are shocking incidents, and as such tend to go viral when videos of such mishaps are uploaded to social media.
Recently, a video showing a collision between a motorcycle and a trailer lorry was widely shared online along with the claim that the incident happened recently in Johor.
Is this true?

While the video has since been removed, Seri Alam OCPD Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said in a statement on Wednesday (July 17) that the accident happened in Ulu Tiram, Johor.
“Based on the initial investigation, it is believed that the accident happened on July 17 at about 11.30am. A trailer lorry, driven by a 51-year-old man heading towards Bandar Tiram, was hit by a sedan from the right side while the lorry was making a right turn,” he said.
He added that the car’s driver was seriously injured and was taken to the Sultan Ismail Hospital for treatment.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
“Seri Alam police advise the public to obey all road rules and regulations as well as to always be cautious while driving,” said Supt Mohd Sohaimi.
