Child rearing requires a lot of money. So, it is no surprise that the Social Welfare Department, with its goal of protecting the welfare of those in need, would offer help.

However, is it true that the department is offering up to RM1,000 in children’s aid?

In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the department stated that the infographic making its rounds on social media claiming that the department is offering up to RM1,000 in children’s aid is fake.

“The department would like to inform you that the information regarding ‘Child Aid Up to RM1,000’ is FAKE!” it said in the post.

It also advised the public to visit www.jkm.gov.my for the latest and most accurate information from the department.
