A man reportedly high on drugs was arrested after getting his car stuck on a bridge meant for motorcycles in Kuala Kurau, said Kerian OCPD Supt Juna Yusoff.

He added that the self-employed man, who was in his early 50s, also got into a scuffle with police while trying to evade arrest.

"We received information about the car on Thursday (April 18) at about 8.45am.

"A team of policemen was then dispatched to the location and found the man shouting at (passers-by)," he said in a statement.

"He then got into a fracas with the policemen and was apprehended," he added.

Supt Juna said the team found a plastic packet believed to contain drugs on the man.

"He was taken back to the Kuala Kurau police station before being sent to the Kerian police headquarters narcotics unit.

"He tested positive for methamphetamine.

"We urge people not to speculate on the case which can cause misunderstanding.
