TRUE

Cheras district police chief ACP Zam Halim Jamaluddin said a 63-year-old unemployed man lodged a report claiming that he was duped in a job scam.

“On May 19, the victim received a job offer from an unknown person via Telegram, where a RM90 commission was paid after clicking on the Subscribe button on three YouTube channels.

“For the next task, the victim was told to make deposits into several bank accounts totalling RM93,381.96. However, the victim failed to receive the promised commission,” he said.

ACP Zam said the case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
