RECENTLY, it was claimed online that a motorcyclist was killed in Sabah when he collided with a buffalo that was crossing the road. Is this true?

Lahad Datu OCPD Asst Comm Rohan Shah Ahmad said that a courier was killed after crashing his motorcycle into a buffalo along Jalan Felda Sabahat 6 here in the early hours of Saturday (Dec 10).
He said that the 22-year-old was with two other rider friends when the accident occurred, adding that the victim crashed into one of three buffaloes when the animals suddenly crossed the road.
ACP Rohan said the victim could not brake in time when the animals crossed the road.
“This information was gathered from the victim’s two friends, who were also riding their motorcycles nearby,” he said in a statement.
ACP Rohan added that the victim is believed to have died on the spot.
