A clip has gone viral allegedly of CCTV footage of a man breaking into a restaurant owned by a celebrity. Is it true that a Malaysian actor's restaurant was burgled?

Ipoh police announced the arrest of a man suspected of stealing metal equipment from a restaurant owned by actor and comedian Zul Yahya.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said the 25-year-old suspect was arrested at a shop in Klebang Putra, Chemor at 3.20pm on Monday (Nov 28).

"A car believed to be used by the suspect during the burglary was also seized," said ACP Yahya.

He said police received a report from a man named Zul, 52, about 5.15pm on Sunday (Nov 27) at the Jelapang police station regarding the incident and that various metal equipment worth an estimated RM1,500 was stolen from his Bandar Meru Raya restaurant.

He said the suspect’s urine sample tested positive for methamphetamine, and the police were investigating whether he was involved in other cases.

"This case has been successfully resolved and the suspect will be remanded at the Ipoh Magistrate's Court on Tuesday (Nov 29) for further investigation according to Section 457 of the Penal Code," he said.
