EARLIER this week, a message went viral online claiming that a person was stabbed at Hospital Taiping along with a photo and video purporting to be of the victim.
In the message, it is claimed that a chef had been stabbed in the chest after an argument while another "victim" was splashed with hot oil.
Is it true that such an incident happened?
VERDICT:
FALSE
The police have debunked claims on social media that a man was stabbed in the chest at Hospital Taiping, saying it was just part of a drill.
Taiping deputy OCPD Supt Razlam Ab Hamid said it was only a simulation exercise conducted by the hospital on Wednesday (Aug 24) and Thursday (Aug 25).
"It is part of (emergency) drills at the hospital," he said.
A message, along with a photograph of the "victim" with a knife embedded in his chest and a 33-second video clip showing him being wheeled into an ambulance had gone viral.
