IT was claimed that several pupils at a school in USJ, Subang Jaya were rushed to the hospital due to a gas leak. Did this happen?

A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department said that four pupils were rushed to hospital after inhaling gas fumes in a laboratory at SK Sri Pintar at Persiaran Mulia, USJ15 at around 1.20pm Tuesday (June 21).

"We received a distress call and dispatched a fire engine and eight personnel to the scene. They found that gas had leaked from a Bunsen burner," he said.

The spokesman added that four 11-year-olds felt nauseous and were rushed to the hospital.

He said that the situation was under control by the time the team arrived at the scene.
