In a statement on Monday (June 20), Kuala Selangor district police chief Supt Ramli Kasa said that a police report had been lodged by the victim.
He said the victim had alleged that he had been beaten and injured with a sharp weapon.
“A suspect had been detained by a friend of the victim and a parang used in the incident was seized,” he added.
Supt Ramli said that an investigation had been conducted under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing hurt with a weapon.
He added that the suspect was charged at the Kuala Selangor Magistrate's Court for the offence.
