Myanmar detainees from Malaysia arrive back home

YANGON: A total of 391 Myanmar nationals who were detained at detention centres in Malaysia after being sentenced for various reasons arrived back home on TUesday (May 12) by a special flight, according to a release of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In order to retrieve the Myanmar national detainees from Malaysia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with concerned ministries of the Malaysian government, Myanmar embassy in Kuala Lumpur and Myanmar local government ministries under the guidelines of the National Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Covid-19 (coronavirus) , said in the release.
