Thai authorities told to allow people from Phuket to go home without quarantine

BANGKOK: Provincial authorities were told on Sunday (May 3) by a high-level government official to allow people from Phuket to go home throughout Thailand without a subsequent 14-day quarantine which he confirmed they have earlier undergone.

Interior Ministry Permanent Secretary Chatchai Phromlert called on the provincial authorities nationwide to allow those people from Phuket to get to their home province and not to necessarily quarantine them under pandemic control measures, because, he said, they have already undergone screening and quarantine process in the southern tourist island in the last 30 days.
