SINGAPORE/HONG KONG: Global military spending surged to its highest level in three decades in 2019, mainly driven by the United States, China and India, a Swedish-based research institute said on Monday (April 26).
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) estimated that global military expenditure totalled US$1.91 trillion dollars in 2019, up 3.6% from 2018.
